Treatment abroad: finding a clinic, cost estimate and full logistics
When the diagnosis is serious and there seems to be no way forward in Georgia, the hardest part is the first step: which clinic to turn to, and what it will cost. Send us the discharge summary, and within a few days you will receive a written treatment plan and cost estimate from clinics that treat exactly your diagnosis. After that, everything is in the hands of one contact person: flights, hotel, an interpreter at the clinic and care after you return.

-
Free cost estimate, in writingThe price comes from the clinic and we do not change it

The full cycle: from sending the discharge summary to returning home
Five stages, and at each one you know exactly what is happening, who is doing what and what it will cost. You never move on to the next stage until the previous one has been confirmed in writing.
-
Second opinion and sending the history
We translate the discharge summary and test results, select 2-3 clinics with experience in treating your diagnosis, and send them the documents at the same time.
-
Receiving the cost estimate
You receive from the clinic a written treatment plan, duration and cost estimate. We compare the offers and explain what is and is not included in the price.
-
Flights, hotel, visa
We book the flight to fit the clinic's dates, a hotel or apartment near the clinic and an airport transfer, and prepare medical visa documents where needed.
-
A Georgian interpreter on site
The interpreter meets you at the clinic and accompanies you to consultations, examinations and visits. After each stage we let your family in Georgia know how things are going.
-
Care after you return
We translate the discharge summary into Georgian for your local doctor, arrange a caregiver, rehabilitation and, where needed, the import of medicines, and agree follow-up visits with the clinic remotely.
Where patients from Georgia go, and why
We choose the country according to the diagnosis, budget and time available, not the other way round. Below are the three destinations we work with most often.
-
Turkey
The nearest and most affordable destination. Large private clinics in Istanbul and Ankara offer oncology, bone marrow and organ transplantation, cardiac surgery and IVF at prices 2-3 times lower than in Europe, and their international patient departments have Russian-speaking and sometimes Georgian-speaking coordinators.
-
Germany
For complex and rare cases: neurosurgery, spinal surgery, orthopaedics, complex oncology regimens and diagnostics when the diagnosis is unclear. University clinics and professors, and accordingly a higher price and advance payment.
-
Israel
Modern oncology and haematology protocols, paediatrics and rehabilitation. Most clinics have Russian-speaking doctors and staff, which makes communication easier. Prices sit between Germany and Turkey.
Entry conditions apply to citizens of Georgia and are checked again before departure. Interested in another country? Say so in the form: we also work with other clinics in Europe and Asia.
Free guides by country
Each guide covers the entry rules for a Georgian citizen, ways to check a clinic, which translation the local clinic needs and which documents to prepare in advance.
VIP and critical care medicine: when time is decisive
Sometimes the patient is in intensive care and a scheduled flight is impossible, or the family needs one person to take on every organisational matter. We have a separate service for this.
-
Medical charter flight (air ambulance)
By a specialised aircraft or on a scheduled flight accompanied by a medical team, depending on the patient's condition. We arrange it with licensed operators and agree the patient's admission with the clinic in advance.
-
Medical concierge
One personal coordinator who handles all non-medical matters for the patient and family: communication with the clinic, payments, accommodation, transport, family members' arrival, a daily update to Georgia.
-
Logistics for critical patients
An ICU ambulance in Georgia and in the destination country, urgent translation of medical documents, planning of clinic-to-clinic transfers and coordination of every stage with the treating doctors.
In an urgent case, select "Critical" in the form: such requests are handled out of turn.
What we take on, and what we do not
In medical tourism, most disappointment comes from unclear roles. That is why we draw the line in advance.
- We do: select clinics according to the diagnosis, translate and send the documents, obtain and compare cost estimates, arrange travel, accommodation and an interpreter, and stay in touch with the clinic after treatment too.
- We do not: make a diagnosis, choose the treatment method or guarantee the outcome. These decisions are made only by the doctor, together with you.
- Price: the cost of treatment is set by the clinic and we do not change it. We tell you our fee for organisational services separately, in writing, before work begins.
- Funding: we do not fund treatment, but we help prepare documents for the state programme and for foundations. Funding guide

Frequently asked questions about treatment abroad
How do I get a cost estimate for treatment from a foreign clinic?
The clinic needs your discharge summary or Form 100, your latest test results and radiology reports, translated into its working language. We prepare this package and send it to several clinics at once. The clinic's doctor reviews the documents and sends a written treatment plan, the expected duration and a cost estimate. You pay nothing at this stage: at most clinics the estimate is free and commits you to nothing.
How much does a consultation in Turkey cost?
A remote review, in which the clinic's doctor studies your documents and sends you a treatment plan, is free at most private clinics in Turkey. An in-person consultation with a doctor on site costs roughly USD 100-250, depending on the clinic and the professor's standing, and if treatment goes ahead this amount is often counted towards the total cost. You will see the exact figure in the clinic's written offer before you decide anything.
How long does a clinic take to reply, and when can I travel?
Clinics in Turkey usually send a treatment plan within 2-5 working days, and clinics in Germany and Israel within 1-2 weeks, because there the documents are reviewed by a specific professor. Once the plan is confirmed, travel to Turkey is possible within a few days, and to Germany or Israel within 2-4 weeks if a visa or advance payment is needed. For urgent cases we have a separate, fast-track procedure.
Can the state fund treatment abroad?
In some cases, yes. Georgia has the state Referral Services Programme, under which a commission considers funding treatment, including abroad, when the treatment needed is not available in the country. The decision is made by the commission and funding is not guaranteed. We help you prepare the documents required for the application and obtain the clinic's written cost estimate. Solidaroba.ge does not fund treatment itself.
What does a Georgian interpreter do at the clinic?
The interpreter accompanies you to consultations with the doctor, examinations and visits before and after surgery, interprets the doctor's explanations and your questions, helps you understand the clinic's documents (consent forms, contract, invoice) and, at discharge, helps you receive the discharge summary and prescriptions correctly. The interpreter does not make medical decisions and does not replace the doctor's advice. The service is charged by the day or by the hour and agreed in advance.
What people often need before departure and after return
- Medical document translation The discharge summary and test results in the clinic's language, notarised where needed. The first step in requesting a cost estimate.
- Post-operative care A caregiver, rehabilitation, a sterile environment and import of medicines after you return home.
- Financial mediation A crowdfunding campaign and communication with foundations when the clinic's cost estimate exceeds what the family can afford.
The first step commits you to nothing
Send us the discharge summary. Within a few days you will know which clinic accepts your case, what plan it proposes and what it will cost. You make the decision afterwards.
