Translation price calculator: an indicative price and turnaround in one minute
The price of a translation depends on three things: the number of pages, the language and extra services such as notarisation or urgent delivery. A standard page is 1,800 characters including spaces. Choose the document and the language, and the calculator will show you an indicative price, the typical length and the turnaround. We will tell you the exact amount after seeing the document, before you order.
Calculator
In short: how the translation price is made up
- The unit is the standard page: 1,800 characters including spaces, not a physical sheet. A half-empty certificate may come to less than one page, while one sheet of a dense discharge summary may be more than two.
- The indicative price is 20-40 ₾ per page, depending on the language and how complex the terminology is.
- Notarisation and the apostille are priced separately: the first is the notary's fee, the second a state fee.
- A document of up to 10 pages is usually ready in 1-3 working days, and an urgent order is done for an extra fee.
- We confirm the exact price in writing before you order, and it does not change during the work.
How much does it cost to translate different documents: examples
The table shows the typical length, and the price is calculated at an indicative 20-40 ₾ per page, without notarisation. Your document may be shorter or longer.
| Document | Typical length | Indicative price | Standard turnaround |
|---|---|---|---|
| Form 100 | 2-4 pages | 40-160 ₾ | 1-2 working days |
| Discharge summary | 5-15 pages | 100-600 ₾ | 2-3 working days |
| Laboratory test results | 1-5 pages | 20-200 ₾ | 1-2 working days |
| Prescription, treatment plan | 1-2 pages | 20-80 ₾ | 1 working day |
| CT, MRI or ultrasound report | 1-3 pages | 20-120 ₾ | 1-2 working days |
Personal, court, educational and financial documents vary greatly in length, from a one-page certificate to a twenty-page judgment. So for these, enter the number of pages in the calculator yourself.
How the price is calculated: four steps
The calculator works on the same logic we use to set the exact price of an order. The only difference is that once we have seen the document, we count the pages precisely and no longer use the typical length.
-
Measuring the length
We measure the original text in characters and divide by 1,800. A scanned document is first converted into text, and seals and signatures are reflected in the translation with a descriptive note.
-
Language rate
The number of pages is multiplied by the rate for the chosen language pair. Medical terminology is not charged as a separate surcharge, because it is our core speciality.
-
Extra services
Notarisation, the apostille, a courier or DHL are added as separate lines, each with its own amount, so you can see what you are paying for.
-
Written confirmation
We send you the final amount, the turnaround and the delivery format in writing. We start work only once you have agreed.
What raises and what lowers the price
Two documents of the same length can cost different amounts. The reason is almost always one of those listed below.
-
Language and direction
The rate differs by language pair. Translations into rare languages are done together with a partner agency, and their price is set individually.
-
Handwriting and poor scans
Deciphering a doctor's handwriting and working from a poor copy take more time. A clear scan or photo, without shadows or tilt, saves money and lowers the risk of errors.
-
Tables and formatting
Laboratory tables, units and reference ranges must be laid out exactly as in the original. This takes more time than ordinary text.
-
Notary, apostille, urgency
Notarisation and the apostille are added to the translation price, and urgent delivery carries an extra fee. Each of these extras is listed separately before you order.
How to save legitimately
- Ask the recipient whether notarisation is really needed: for a consultation, most clinics only need an accurate translation. When notarisation is required.
- Check which documents the clinic needs. The latest discharge summary and the most recent imaging are often enough, rather than the whole history.
- Order in advance: the standard turnaround is always cheaper than urgent.
- If the document has to be used officially abroad, first check whether it needs an apostille or legalisation, so you do not pay for an unnecessary step.
Frequently asked questions about translation prices
Why is the price calculated per standard page rather than per sheet?
A physical sheet does not reflect how much text there is: one sheet of Form 100 may hold two hundred words, while one sheet of a discharge summary may hold six hundred. The standard page, 1,800 characters including spaces, ties the price to the actual work and gives two identical documents the same price. For short documents, such as certificates and prescriptions, we confirm the price separately, because their text is often less than one page.
How long does a translation take?
A document of up to ten pages is usually ready in one to three working days, counted from the moment the translation is confirmed. We get the notarisation done on the day the translation is ready or on the next working day. If your clinic appointment is tomorrow, we accept urgent orders when capacity allows, for an extra fee that we tell you in advance. We deliver a large medical history in parts, so that you receive the most needed document first.
Is the calculator price final?
No, it is indicative. The calculator uses a typical length and an average rate, while your document may be shorter, longer or more complex. We quote the exact price after seeing the document and confirm it in writing before you order. Once confirmed, the price does not change during the work, and the notary's fee and state fees are listed as separate lines.
Are notarisation and the apostille included in the price?
No. Notarisation is the notary's fee and is added to the translation price, while the apostille is a state fee charged by the Public Service Hall that depends on the processing option. We arrange both on your behalf and tell you the exact amount before you order. Ticking these boxes in the calculator does not change the price, but the result will show you that they are added separately.
How do I count the characters if I only have the document on paper?
You do not need to. Take a clear photo of the document and send it to us: we will count the pages and tell you the price before you order. In the calculator you can leave the pages field empty and choose the document type; the result will then be based on the usual length of that type of document. For an electronic file, Word's word count feature will show you the number of characters.
